Google are one of the most internationally known and largest companies in the world. They are an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products.
The project was based in the heart of the Argents Kings Cross redevelopment scheme within a list old tram building. The purpose for the project was to form an office environment to house all the parties and consultants working on Google proposed new Kings Cross office building.
The brief for the fit out was to create an open plan office which would allow for interaction and creativity between the multidisciplinary company’s working in it. The office was to house circa 140 staff with support facilities which consisted of meeting rooms, flexible work areas / informal meeting areas, kitchen / dining area and toilets and showers. As part of Google’s creative request existing Caravans were installed and modified to form additional meeting rooms within the open plan area.
The project was procured on a Design and build basis with PDG working with Parkeray and there Sub-Contractor team to design and fit out the space within a very fast track programme of 8 weeks.
