The Greater London Authority has earmarked the National Sports Centre at Crystal Palace, South London for significant redevelopment. Originally built in the 1950’s, this iconic building was the home of sports and athletics in Southern England for many years. As a result of the Olympics, focus has now shifted to Stratford but Crystal Palace remains a significant sports centre to the local community and a major training base for many schools and clubs.
The iconic grade 2 listed Crystal Palace diving boards are still in daily use by Crystal Palace Diving School, used by over 600 club member. As part of the development strategy, PDG have been asked to support CPD in their ambitious expansion plans to create a centre of excellence for diving and bring back International Competitive diving to London. We are currently in negotiation with the GLA, formulating proposals and generating interest in what will be an extremely challenging project for many reasons.
